The Professor and I are headed off for Italy to attend Jovial’s Culinary Getaway, Gluten-Free Italian Style; we’re attending as particpants this time and I have to say, we’re pretty excited. We’ve had the privilege of working with Jovial this past year and we always have their products in our pantry – but we’ve not attended the class as students so this is going to be great fun!
I can’t say I ever remember my kids being picky eaters; other than a few vegetables deemed ‘nasty’, i.e., green beans and peas (which they still don’t eat as adults) – my kids were fond of soups, salads, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, cabbage – even tuna was acceptable in our house. But if you’re the unlucky parent of a picky eater then Jenny of Picky Palate has you covered.
‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year!’ croons Johnny Mathis on a classic holiday tune now blaring from my speakers. I’ve thought about that line quite a bit these past couple of holiday seasons wondering exactly who is having a good time? No, this isn’t going to be Negative Nellie post but seriously, I know I’m in good company when I say that by the time the calendar says November, it’s a dead run until the end of the year.

This is one of those recipes I’ve wanted to share for a couple of years now; the anticipation of fall and the harvesting of concord grapes makes me feel nothing less than giddy. But Concord grape season is short, my attention span is short and one of three things has happened: (a) I completely miss said Concord grape season, (b) I remember Concord grape season but can’t find any at my local store and (c) by some miracle I actually remember Concord grape season, find said Concord grapes and make this fabulous recipe . . . but then I forget to take photos . . .

We traveled on vacation to Vermont last summer and had a fantastic time. I keep thinking we’ll get around to putting together a video with all the great photos we shot but alas, the summer project turned into a fall project that turned into winter project – you get the picture.

Do you ever look at your life and ask, ‘How did I get so lucky???’ No really, I have moments where I look at my life and suddenly it hits me just how fortunate I am . . . and I really do wonder, ‘Why me? How did I get so lucky?’ And this isn’t to say that I don’t have or haven’t had drama in my life . . . believe me, I’ve had plenty of drama . . . and still have times when it circles like a vulture threatening to take me down a rabbit hole . . . but I’d have to say that for 99.99 percent of the time, I live what I call a Cinderella life . . .
