GLUTEN-FREE ROSEMARY-TANGERINE BISCOTTI

‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year!’ croons Johnny Mathis on a classic holiday tune now blaring from my speakers. I’ve thought about that line quite a bit these past couple of holiday seasons wondering exactly who is having a good time? No, this isn’t going to be Negative Nellie post but seriously, I know I’m in good company when I say that by the time the calendar says November, it’s a dead run until the end of the year.

Musical pairing – Holy Moses by Washington

This is one of those recipes I’ve wanted to share for a couple of years now; the anticipation of fall and the harvesting of concord grapes makes me feel nothing less than giddy. But Concord grape season is short, my attention span is short and one of three things has happened: (a) I completely miss said Concord grape season, (b) I remember Concord grape season but can’t find any at my local store and (c) by some miracle I actually remember Concord grape season, find said Concord grapes and make this fabulous recipe . . . but then I forget to take photos . . .

Musical pairing – So Small by Carrie Underwood

My oldest son and his family moved to Indiana last month; the last year without Alice has been difficult and everyone felt they needed a new start – new job, new home, new beginning, moving forward. So they packed up their house in New Hampshire, along with Alice’s brother, Doug, 3 Labrador dogs and hit the road heading West to Indiana.

GLUTEN-FREE FENNEL TART

I have been a ‘pie girl’ for as long as I can remember; my choice of birthday treat was almost always a cherry pie – except those times when I requested Angel Food cake – primarily because I thought maybe eating Angel Food cake would make me more . . . shall we say, ‘angelic?’ No such luck. The words, ‘sweet’ or ‘angelic’ are never used to describe me and I’m okay with that. I’ve learned to embrace my other qualities . . . I won’t bore you with the details now, but suffice it to say that ‘loving pie’ is at the top of that list.

GLUTEN-FREE RHUBARB TOASTER PASTRIES

Ten minutes to empty my head, empty my thoughts, pen-to-paper without stopping. No editing, no looking back – only moving forward. Wouldn’t it be great if we could live life this way? If I could live my life this way? Only moving forward, never looking back to edit, cross through, scribble out or rewrite the journey so it flows better, makes more sense, looks perfect?
