On today’s episode we’re talking about moving ourselves from a place of low energy and ‘meh’ into a space of a little more joy and maybe feeling a bit lighter. I woke up this morning in a bit of what I call a ‘funk’; my husband and I have a morning ritual where we begin each day making a mug of tea, reading a short reflection and then sharing our thoughts with one another. This morning, I woke up in a real funk – just not feeling it. I wanted to lay around, didn’t want to participate in our routine, blah, blah, blah. Then I read an article in the local paper about a nursing home in our town where every resident had been infected with the virus; there had been some fatalities – but the worst part was that the nursing home had failed to notify family members of the exposure. The story just added to my ‘funk’. Maybe this is true for many of us as we digest all the news that comes blasting at us throughout the day? I sent the article to Tammy and then moved on with my morning – including our ritual. As I spoke with Tammy later, she shared how that article had impacted her.
