We’ve been very fortunate to do quite a bit of traveling these past few months and one of those trips included heading to Upstate New York to attend a Longhouse Food Revival. The Professor and I weren’t quite sure what to expect . . . creator and visionary, Molly O’Neill made reference to ‘Burning Man’ – of which I know nothing.
Debra and I are excited to be participating in the Verizon Wireless Savvy Gourmet program and over the summer, we’ve been able to “test-drive” the Motorola™ XYBOARD 10.1 tablet. From email, web browsing and social media to a slew of other apps from the Google Play Store, this tablet has something for just about everyone. But today, let’s talk video!
The Professor and I are participating in Verizon’s ‘Savy Gourmet’ program and have been having fun testing Motorola’s new XYBoard (ZIE-board). We met a group of Midwest friends in Chicago last month to get a few lessons on what this new tablet can do. We’ll be talking about the XYBoard tablet in future posts but now I want to share my take on a particular salad we enjoyed at a top-secret dinner, held in a top-secret place.
We woke up this morning to find someone had pulled a bag of catnip off the counter and onto the kitchen floor – from the drugged looks on the faces of all 5 cats, I’d say it was quite the party . . . can you see the bits of catnip on Sparky’s chin??? Guilty!
When it comes to Valentine’s Day, I’m betting some sort of chocolate dessert tops the list of those most requested; chocolate candy, brownies, red velvet anything . . . chocolate seems to reign supreme on this single holiday. We thought you might enjoy a sexy little video to go with your dose of chocolate . . . m’kay, not that kind of video, we’re G-rated here at Smith Bites!! The Professor has dusted off his creative skills and written original music as well as used his mad sound-design skills . . . I gotta say, we kinda like this one . . .
If you’ve never made marshmallows at home, you’re in for a treat! And the best part? You make them with five ingredients, they come together in less than 30 minutes and while you’re waiting for them to set up, you have plenty of time to work on other projects . . .
A few weeks ago I asked Smith Bites Facebook fans to tell me what, if anything, freaked them out about cooking on Thanksgiving . . . outside of worrying about no leftovers, people said ‘making the pesky gravy’ was their number one fear . . . so for anyone with ‘gravy phobia’ we’ve put together this very short ‘how-to’ video on how to make a simple roasted gravy . . .
We’re back with another Thanksgiving Table video and this time, we give a nod to the kid in all of us . . . we also need to give a very special shout-out to a good friend who designed and created the cookies you see this year – we absolutely love them!
