PHOTO ESSAY – NEW ORLEANS

The Professor and I were in New Orleans last week – it was the first time either of us had visited this fabulous city and by the end of the week, we were both smitten. The weather was perfect – sunny and warm with a gentle breeze; there is so much to see and do in New Orleans and of course . . . eat!

I’ll be doing a follow-up post soon with some of our restaurant recommendations but for now, enjoy some of the places we visited!

Cannot believe I’m even saying this but my first-ever trolley ride.

Doesn’t this look like Cinderella’s Castle at Disney? The grounds of Jackson Square (Plaza de Armas) were stunning.

These guys wheeled this piano down the sidewalk for several blocks – only in New Orleans?

And of course, no trip to New Orleans is complete with a stop at Cafe du Monde; and no, I did not enjoy a beignet – they’re not gluten-free; insert sad face.

But then insert happy-face; doesn’t he just make you smile?!
