AUTUMN FIRES . . . Robert Louis Stevenson, A Child’s Garden of Verses
In the other gardens
And all up the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
See the smoke trail!
Pleasant summer over
And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes,
The gray smoke towers.
Sing a song of seasons!
Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
Fires in the fall!
It’s always lovely to visit here on Sundays. xoxoxo
love the pictures! I am having a hard time picking my favorite.
Just lovely!
We’re seeing autumn in the garden here too…and it makes me a little sad even if it is beautiful. Here’s my poem contribution:
I love fall and I love spring;
Not so much the blizzards in between.
🙂
Love this! You know how people have book-reading clubs? We could start a poetry-ready blog club! I love combining photography with poetry…and your post today is perfect!
What a soothing post. The photos of the flowers are just stunning and immediately had a calming effect over me. It sure doesn’t feel like autumn here… not with this humidity. But I know that soon we’ll be begging for warmer weather.
