I haven’t shared much about our vacation in Vermont because somehow the calendar says August has nearly come and gone . . . how that happened is beyond me . . . but regardless, on one of our vacation days we headed up to Moss Glenn Falls for a hike. Now considering that my brother-in-law is legendary for his ‘forced marches’ as we so lovingly call them (will tell that story soon, promise), some of us . . . er, that would be moi, were a teensy bit skeptical about his reference to it being an ‘easy’ hike . . . none-the-less, The Professor and I travel for the experiences and I wasn’t about to let this one pass me by . . . and this hike was a real treat!
At about this point, I’m getting closer and closer to the edge of the cliffs so I can get some shots; I’m wearing yoga pants . . . The Professor says, ‘be careful of the edge . . . you’re getting close to the edge . . . stay away from the edge . . . you’re making me nervous, there’s the edge . . .’ and suddenly he grabs the back of my yoga pants with a hard grip . . . I turned and said, ‘you do realize that if I go over, they’re gonna find me at the bottom either naked from the waist down or with a big ol’ wedgie, right? Cuz’ you gripping my yoga pants isn’t going to help in the least!’
Remember the sign about DANGER and not climbing on the rocks? And you see the two people CLIMBING ON THE ROCKS?? uhm, yeah . . . they must have missed the sign . . .
It was a gorgeous day and we wish we’d had more time to go back for one last hike!
Do you have a favorite vacation spot?
What a lovely vacation – I’m headed to Vermont in October for like one day, and I can’t wait!!
Okay, I officially snorted out loud at the yoga pants and wedgie part. Too funny and I can just hear you saying it and see the expression on The Prof’s face, too!
Gorgeous spot and photos.
I planned to escape to France this summer but life seems to refuse to slow down lately. So I’m living vicariously through your beautiful photos. I love Vermont!
What a beautiful place! I’d love to visit one day. You had me laughing out loud with that whole wedgie line, so true!
“either naked from the waist or with a big ‘ol wedgie” made me laugh right out loud! But how absolutely gorgeous was that place! I’d be leaning out over the edge of the cliff, too. Reminds me a lot of some of our beautiful north Georgia mountain spots.
p.s. – Love the braids 🙂
What a lovely and beautifully photographed vacation! That last picture just makes me smile. I adore you!
Gorgeous!
LOVE the photo of you & the Prof at the end. Could you 2 be ANY cuter?
Nope. I don’t think so.
What a gorgeous spot!! And those people climbing on the rocks are CRAZY!!
Fun! And funny. ; )
First off….how CUTE are the two of you?!?!?
Second, what a gorgeous place!!!! I’m so glad you didn’t fall! 🙂
What a great story – through pics and words! I don’t think I have a favorite vacation spot because I love returning to places I’ve been but am anxious to someday see places I have never been. In the first category – I would love to return to Panama City, Florida. I took Adee there once when she was little and we had such a wonderful time. On my list of places I’d like to go – definitely Paris, Belize, and any national park in California. Oh, the places we’ll go. Looking forward to a future destination that brings us together again!
Love the beautiful photos of your hike and imagining what it was like when the Professor pulled on your yoga pants!
That looks like a blast. Great pictures! I love 30A in Northwest Florida, Park City Utah and of course, Italy
What beautiful shots! I would love to visit Vermont area…that’s a part of the country I have not spent much time in. My favorite vacation spot is Sanibel Island, FL…it is the most natural beach, the shells are amazing and it’s just so peaceful.
Devil’s Lake State Park in Wisconsin. Anywhere in Door County Wisconsin. Especially good for scuba diving and hiking.
Beautiful post, D! I’ve only been to Stowe once and it was in the middle of winter. Did I mention that I hate skiing?
E and I go to the Cape a lot, as you know… and then we go to the Berkshires frequently with my family.
Vegas! Haven’t been in so long itching to get back for a few days.
Beautiful photos Deb…looks a lot like Colorado!
Right now, I would have to say Snowmass, Colorado. I loved the beauty and serenity there…the waterfall and rushing rivers and the mountain scenery. So majestic, so amazing.
Yoga pants wedgie-yikes!! Love your photos and it sounds like a fabulous place to hike. I can never pick one favorite vacation spot, although my last trip, whitewater rafting in Idaho, was pretty fabulous!
