The Professor has wanted to show me this place since May and we finally had the opportunity to visit recently – and lemme just say, it was a real treat!
Cammack Station is an old-fashioned soda shop where Jerry Lee Lewis blares from speakers and replicas of gas pumps and other memorabilia from days gone by stand proudly amongst the tables; the building was originally constructed in 1934 and was home to the local grocery – Pete’s Grocery for decades.
The beautifully restored building is a place where you can order up lunch, a sandwich, dinner and/or ice cream.
Located at 9200 W Jackson St in Muncie, Indiana, Cammack Station is open Tuesdays – Sundays, 11am – 9pm and is closed on Mondays. They don’t have a website up yet, but they do have a facebook page.
If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend you stop in for anything on the menu . . . but don’t miss out on their shakes – fabulous!
I grew up in Muncie and whenever I visit I insist on going to Cammack Station at least once. During berry season they make a worth-the-wait strawberry shortcake with fresh berries and a homemade biscuit, served with your choice of ice cream or whipped cream (I get both). It easily serves two.
LOVE the sign, but more importantly – love how thick that shake is! Could really use one about now. Great pics!
Oh yeah… That’s the stuff. This place looks great!
That chocolate milkshake just made me cry. In a really sexy way. MAMA.
OMGoodness I just love this vintage feel of this soda shop. A beautiful piece of Americana!
Place looks so cool
