Musical pairing – You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate
A couple of weeks ago, I woke up feeling very much like I still wanted to be on vacation back in Santa Cruz; in fact, I was really wishing we had a Gayle’s Bakery so that I could peruse their gorgeous cases of pastry! But alas, I clicked my heels three times and I was definitely still in Kansas . . . well, Indiana, but close enough. Anyhoo . . . because I still wanted to be on vacation and was craving pastry, I decided to make doughnut holes – and not just any doughnut holes, but doughnut holes that were dipped in chocolate sauce – a fabulous Martha Stewart Chocolate Brandy Sauce!
I will confess that I took a cheat here, because I used thawed pizza dough purchased from my local grocer, to make my doughnut holes; I rolled/patted to about 1/2-inch thickness, then cut with a small biscuit cutter and shallow fried for about 2-3 minutes on each side (you have to flip them, they won’t turn themselves); once out of the pan, I dusted them with a cinnamon sugar.
And then, I dipped them into the silkiest, rich chocolate I’ve ever placed into my mouth . . . seriously . . . it’s like one of those, ‘Calgon, take me away’ moments! Try it for 30 days and if you don’t like it, we’ll refund your money . . . oh wait, I don’t recommend eating doughnuts or doughnut holes for 30 days straight . . .
But then again, the sauce is also great on ice cream . . .

I have to disagree… the brandy isn’t optional. It’s required. 🙂
I could just drink this stuff through a straw! YUM!
I love that you cheated & had the worlds quickest donuts to dunk in this super tasty sweet chocolate sauce. oh happy days!
wow truly beautiful! I like it with brandy! I think I will lick it out clean! 🙂
Oh my goodness, I love it. Who cares that you cheated on the donuts? The chocolate sauce more than makes up for it.
If I have one weakness in sweets, it’s definitely chocolate. I can just imagine the taste of the brown sugar and brandy with the chocolate in this sauce. Fantastic combination.
These really do look over the rainbow! If i thought it would work, I’d try clicking my heels three times in hopes of winding up at your house to share a few of these with you. I’m feeling all cooked out right now, but when I can face my own kitchen again, I’m definitely trying this brandy chocolate sauce!
Yep Avery, Yum!
YUM.
Not one little thing Rowdy, not one little thing! ;o)
Fried dough, chocolate, and brandy…what’s not to like here?
Marly ~ can’t wait to see what you do with the recipe!
Oh my word! These look too good to be true. I can’t wait to share these with my family. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Yes Lydia I will make these for you and you will love them!
At first I thought this was chicken instead of donuts! Either way it would be delicious =D Make some for me, please?
Go to the light, Brian, just go to the light . . . Thank you for your kind words!
